This book teaches college students how to achieve success. A successful student is one who thoroughly understands her or his major field of study, has a satisfying social life, knows how to balance academic and social priorities, stays out of trouble, and finds a great job after graduation. These topics are covered in detail.
This book acknowledges students often have two priorities achieving academic and social success. Accordingly, methods and practices leading to academic success are presented. Coupled with the academic coverage, the book examines collegiate social life from a nonjudgmental viewpoint as a way of guiding students toward a more enriching personal experience leading to social success.
If students are to adequately service both priorities, they must develop a holistic approach to their entire college experience. The primary objective of this book is to teach students how to balance their lives so they can realize all of their goals. Acknowledging the ultimate goal for most students is to begin a career and establish an independent lifestyle after graduation, the book provides guidance to help students find the job of their choice. The tone is conversational.

How to Balance Academic and Social Activities for College Success eBook Michael Capano

This is a quick read with practical advice from someone who has years of experience dealing with all kinds of students from the ones on the dean's list to the drop-outs. I liked the approach the author took because, while other college advice books concentrate only on academic strategies, this one looks at how academics fit into the big picture. I feel like it prepares you for college in a more realistic way plus as a bonus, it give strategies for landing a job when the four years are up.

How to Balance Academic and Social Activities for College Success eBook Michael Capano Reviews

In his long awaited sequel to his hit debut novel Mein Kampf, Capano once again brilliantly captures the impossible struggle imposed upon him by a small group of oppressed people over whom he is in complete control. In this installment, however, he has shifted his focus from Jews to college students. To demonstrate the vile and worthless nature of these students, he makes bold claims, such as the one in which he states that "the reason for exceptionally low exam averages cannot be the way I have organized my own course, but rather must be the fact that this particular group of 500 people is actually just 12% dumber than average." In a breathtaking and unparalleled display of condescendence, he suggests that students who have already not only endured but thrived throughout the crucible of first-year engineering are now simply choosing to be mediocre, rather than make the choice to achieve greatness. Adept readers will notice that here he implies that the truest and purest measure of others' greatness is their level of success attained in a course which he created. Small details such as this are what make Capano such an inspiring writer. After establishing the clear need to deal with the issue of these wretched students, he proposes a plan to do so. Because these people are already underfed, overly stressed, and insufficiently rested, the most efficient strategy to further break down their souls is clearly to increase the difficulty of a course which has already proven to be exceptionally so. This method not only adds additional burden to the individual student, but also stresses interpersonal relationships by turning students who should be friends and collaborators into competitors who are fighting over a limited number of passing grades. Such conditions, which clearly can only come from a perfectly logical and not at all deluded mind such as that of Fuhrer Capano, put students in an extremely difficult position which will only serve to further destabilize their already precarious mental states, most likely to the brink of suicide. They will undoubtedly be eradicated in a matter of weeks.
Overall, great read 10/10 would buy again after being repeatedly coaxed to do so at a review session
